Job Role: Design Manager Location: Derby / Coventry Salary: Competitive, with excellent benefits package Our client, a leading water company, is seeking an experienced and dynamic Design Manager to join their team and play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable design solutions for AMP8 clean and wastewater projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly impactful industry, contributing to the future of water infrastructure & non-infrastructure while managing multidisciplinary teams on major projects. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the design process for AMP8 clean and wastewater projects, ensuring high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective solutions. Coordinate and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including engineers, consultants, and contractors. Oversee the design development, from concept through to delivery, ensuring all designs meet client specifications and regulatory requirements. Maintain excellent communication with internal stakeholders, external contractors, and regulatory bodies. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. Provide technical expertise and support in the resolution of design-related issues during the project lifecycle. Ensure all designs are aligned with industry best practices, health and safety standards, and environmental sustainability goals. Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the design team. Key Requirements: A degree in a relevant engineering or design discipline (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, etc.). Ideally, Chartered status with a recognized professional institution (e.g., ICE, IMechE, IET, CIWEM). Extensive experience in design management, with a focus on clean and wastewater infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects. A proven track record of managing multidisciplinary design teams and delivering complex projects successfully. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.
